La investigaci\u00f3n de Yarleque et al. (2026) se desarroll\u00f3 en esta zona proglaciar (\u00e1rea donde existi\u00f3 cobertura glaciar) del glaciar Yana Ucsha, con el objetivo de entender c\u00f3mo el cambio clim\u00e1tico est\u00e1 modificando los nuevos ecosistemas emergentes tras la desaparici\u00f3n de estos cuerpos de hielo. A trav\u00e9s de mediciones en campo, se busc\u00f3 identificar indicadores naturales que permitan monitorear estos cambios de manera continua y accesible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El enfoque principal del trabajo se basa en el uso de las emisiones de rad\u00f3n, un gas natural presente en el suelo, como indicador ambiental de cambios. Los resultados muestran que la emisi\u00f3n de rad\u00f3n est\u00e1 fuertemente controlada por la humedad del suelo, la cual depende directamente de la temperatura del aire y del deshielo glaciar. Cuando las temperaturas aumentan, el glaciar se derrite m\u00e1s, incrementando la escorrent\u00eda y la humedad del suelo, lo que reduce la liberaci\u00f3n de rad\u00f3n desde el suelo. Por el contrario, en periodos fr\u00edos, con menor deshielo y suelos m\u00e1s secos, el rad\u00f3n se libera con mayor intensidad. Este mecanismo revela una conexi\u00f3n directa entre clima, cri\u00f3sfera y procesos del suelo, permitiendo interpretar c\u00f3mo los cambios t\u00e9rmicos afectan el funcionamiento de los ecosistemas de monta\u00f1a. Por ejemplo, durante uno de los periodos m\u00e1s fr\u00edos del estudio, las emisiones de rad\u00f3n se incrementaron hasta cuatro o cinco veces respecto a condiciones normales, evidenciando la sensibilidad del sistema a variaciones clim\u00e1ticas. Adem\u00e1s, la imagen adjunta muestra elementos clave de este sistema: el glaciar en retroceso, la laguna proglaciar formada por el deshielo, y las superficies rocosas recientemente expuestas. Estos componentes interact\u00faan din\u00e1micamente, regulando la disponibilidad de agua, la humedad del suelo y los procesos ecol\u00f3gicos emergentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En Yarleque et al. (2026) se destaca que el rad\u00f3n puede ser utilizado como una herramienta innovadora, de bajo costo y alta sensibilidad para monitorear el cambio ambiental en regiones de dif\u00edcil acceso.
