{"id":4728,"date":"2025-11-11T19:21:01","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T19:21:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/?p=4728"},"modified":"2025-11-11T19:55:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T19:55:06","slug":"sequias-en-los-andes-del-peru-y-su-relacion-con-la-variabilidad-climatica","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/?p=4728","title":{"rendered":"Sequ\u00edas en los Andes del Per\u00fa y su relaci\u00f3n con la variabilidad clim\u00e1tica"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Por David Pareja Quispe*\/<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los Andes del Per\u00fa son particularmente vulnerables a la ocurrencia de eventos hidroclim\u00e1ticos, por ello, las sequ\u00edas meteorol\u00f3gicas se han convertido en una amenaza creciente&nbsp;&nbsp;para la seguridad h\u00eddrica, la ganader\u00eda, la agricultura y los ecosistemas de monta\u00f1a. En este contexto, el estudio analiz\u00f3 las caracter\u00edsticas y causas de las sequ\u00edas en los Andes peruanos durante un periodo de 83 a\u00f1os (1940\u20132022), a partir de los \u00edndices SPI (\u00cdndice de Precipitaci\u00f3n Estandarizada) y SPEI (\u00cdndice Estandarizado de Precipitaci\u00f3n-Evapotranspiraci\u00f3n) calculados con datos de rean\u00e1lisis ERA5 producidos por&nbsp;el&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ecmwf\"><em>European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts<\/em><\/a><em>&nbsp;<\/em>(ECMWF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El trabajo revela que las sequ\u00edas no se distribuyen de forma homog\u00e9nea. El flanco occidental de los Andes (m\u00e1s \u00e1rido) presenta una mayor frecuencia, intensidad y duraci\u00f3n de eventos secos que el flanco oriental. Las regiones del noroeste (NW) y centro-oeste (CW) son hist\u00f3ricamente las m\u00e1s afectadas, con picos notorios entre las d\u00e9cadas de 1940 y 1970 y un resurgimiento desde 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asimismo, el estudio muestra que las forzantes oce\u00e1nicas y atmosf\u00e9ricas explican gran parte&nbsp;&nbsp;de las sequ\u00edas en la regi\u00f3n analizada y se\u00f1ala tres patrones oce\u00e1nicos, como los principales responsables de la ocurrencia de sequ\u00edas en la cordillera peruana. Entre ellos se destacan:&nbsp;<strong>1)<\/strong>&nbsp;La fase positiva de la Oscilaci\u00f3n Multidecadal del Atl\u00e1ntico (AMO), que desplaza hacia el norte la Zona de Convergencia Intertropical, reduciendo la cantidad de humedad que llega a los Andes peruanos generando sequ\u00edas en ambos flancos, con impactos hist\u00f3ricamente m\u00e1s intensos en el lado occidental.&nbsp;<strong>2)<\/strong>&nbsp;La fase positiva del fen\u00f3meno El Ni\u00f1o en la regi\u00f3n Ni\u00f1o-4 se asocia a condiciones secas sobre los Andes centrales y meridionales.&nbsp;<strong>3)<\/strong>&nbsp;Las anomal\u00edas negativas de temperatura superficial del mar en el Atl\u00e1ntico Sur Tropical (TSA), que desv\u00edan la humedad hacia el norte de Sudam\u00e9rica y dejan el flanco occidental andino en d\u00e9ficit h\u00eddrico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Estos mecanismos operan en escalas temporales distintas: multidecadal en el caso de la AMO, e interanual para el Ni\u00f1o-4 y el TSA. El monitoreo de estas regiones oce\u00e1nicas puede contribuir al desarrollo de sistemas de alerta temprana para una adecuada gesti\u00f3n del riesgo h\u00eddrico, especialmente para la poblaci\u00f3n rural de los Andes del Per\u00fa que dependen directamente de las lluvias, reduciendo as\u00ed los impactos de las sequ\u00edas.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"904\" height=\"492\" src=\"https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Imagen-.png\" alt=\"Fig. 1.
