Existen fuentes de agua dulce como arroyos estacionales, lagos y reservorios subterr\u00e1neos, asumidos como sensibles al cambio clim\u00e1tico. El permafrost aqu\u00ed jugar\u00eda un rol importante en la modificaci\u00f3n de la hidrolog\u00eda superficial, con la capa activa almacenando, y descargando aguas subterr\u00e1neas. En verano, las evidencias muestran redes superficiales transitorias entre los 4.900 y 6.500 m s.n.m.,compuesta por lagos ef\u00edmeros y arroyos alimentados por el deshielo de nieve yla descarga de la capa activa. Estas fuentes de agua ser\u00edan predominantemente de origen mete\u00f3rico, y relativamente \u2018j\u00f3venes\u2019 (&lt;10 a\u00f1os), persistiendo entre 6 y 8 semanas durante el verano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Por encima de los 6.500 m s.n.m., la red hidrol\u00f3gica superficial est\u00e1 a\u00fan m\u00e1s afectada por las bajas temperaturas que impiden el descongelamiento. Por debajo de los 4.900m s.n.m., el permafrost es espor\u00e1dico y no impide la infiltraci\u00f3n del agua. El r\u00e9gimen t\u00e9rmico del suelo, que controla la distribuci\u00f3n del permafrost y la capa activa, impacta significativamente en la hidrolog\u00eda superficial y la recarga.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Nuestro examen, reuni\u00f3 evidencia de r\u00e9gimen t\u00e9rmico superficial, an\u00e1lisis de is\u00f3topos y geomorfol\u00f3gicos para establecer una especie de l\u00ednea de fondo hidrol\u00f3gica en estas tundras Andinas.
