{"id":4315,"date":"2024-12-04T19:45:09","date_gmt":"2024-12-04T19:45:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/?p=4315"},"modified":"2024-12-04T19:45:10","modified_gmt":"2024-12-04T19:45:10","slug":"intensas-lluvias-precoces-en-el-altiplano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/?p=4315","title":{"rendered":"Intensas\u00a0lluvias precoces en el Altiplano"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Por Ren\u00e9 Garreaud*\/<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El &#8220;invierno altipl\u00e1nico&#8221; comenz\u00f3 de manera intensa y algo prematura a mediados de Noviembre, con&nbsp;<strong>copiosas precipitaciones en el sector Boliviano y Peruano de los Andes centrales<\/strong>, como lo muestra el siguiente mapa con la acumulaci\u00f3n entre el 20-29 Nov 2024 (datos IMERG V07). Lamentablemente, esto ha ocasionado afectaciones negativas en&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.elpais.cr\/2024\/11\/26\/seis-de-los-nueve-departamentos-de-bolivia-en-alerta-por-desbordes-de-rios-ante-inicio-de-epoca-de-lluvias\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">varios departamentos de Bolivia.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-5-1024x650.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4316\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-5-1024x650.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-5-300x191.png 300w, https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-5-768x488.png 768w, https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-5.png 1236w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>En las tardes de este periodo las tormentas se han extendido hasta el borde Chileno del Altiplano, como lo muestra la imagen&nbsp;adjunta de comienzos de la semana&nbsp;pasada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"920\" height=\"769\" src=\"https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-2-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4317\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-2-2.png 920w, https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-2-2-300x251.png 300w, https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-2-2-768x642.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 920px) 100vw, 920px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Precipitaciones sobre lo normal son esperables bajo &#8220;La Ni\u00f1a&#8221; aunque a\u00fan seguimos a la<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/products\/analysis_monitoring\/lanina\/enso_evolution-status-fcsts-web.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;espera de la declaraci\u00f3n oficial<\/a>&nbsp;de esta condici\u00f3n. Desde un punto de vista m\u00e1s&nbsp;local,<strong>&nbsp;las fuertes precipitaciones sobre el Altiplano son atribuibles a la activaci\u00f3n de la Alta de Bolivia (AB),<\/strong>&nbsp;produciendo vientos del este sobre los Andes centrales que pueden transportar aire h\u00famedo desde el interior del continente. Esta circulaci\u00f3n en la troposfera media y alta se esquematiza y visualiza en las figuras anteriores, pero es m\u00e1s evidente en los&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/products\/international\/samerica\/samerica.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an\u00e1lisis&nbsp;CDAS de la NOAA<\/a>&nbsp;que se reproduce a continuaci\u00f3n, donde los paneles superiores son el promedio 23-29 Nov 2024 y los inferiores son las anomal\u00edas (diferencia con la climatolog\u00eda):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"592\" src=\"https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-3-2-1024x592.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4318\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-3-2-1024x592.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-3-2-300x173.png 300w, https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-3-2-768x444.png 768w, https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-3-2-1536x888.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.andex-rhp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image-3-2.png 1783w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Aqu\u00ed es evidente que&nbsp;la AB ha estado m\u00e1s&nbsp;intensa que&nbsp;el promedio y situada levemente al sur de su posici\u00f3n habitual, causando vientos del este sobre los Andes centrales. Por otro lado, el chorro del norte en niveles bajos (LLJ) es m\u00e1s&nbsp;o menos normal sobre Bolivia, pero bastante m\u00e1s&nbsp;intenso sobre el sur de Brasil y Paraguay. Eso parece haber alimentado las f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarin.com\/sociedad\/tormenta-lluvia-viento-pais-alerta-buenos-aires-provincias-rojo_0_VuG3Rijsh8.html?srsltid=AfmBOorsXfHi0NGXsL1AfqZ2pXC0_RPN-2JxVRe1i9Unv7OzPY9J3Z8W#google_vignette\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">uertes tormentas sobre el norte de Argentina<\/a>&nbsp;los d\u00edas anteriores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Muchos de los trabajos sobre el clima estival de Sudam\u00e9rica&nbsp;indican que la AB es producto de la liberaci\u00f3n de calor latente sobre el interior del continente y la SACZ, citando el paper seminal de&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/journals.ametsoc.org\/view\/journals\/atsc\/54\/5\/1520-0469_1997_054_0656_otootb_2.0.co_2.xml?tab_body=abstract-display\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lenters &amp; Cook<\/a>&nbsp;(1997). Eso es correcto considerando el promedio estacional, pero parece no ocurrir en este inicio de temporada. Como se aprecia en los mapas de precipitaci\u00f3n,&nbsp;<strong>las precipitaciones han sido deficitarias sobre la Amazonia, el sur de Brasil y la SACZ<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bf<strong>Qu\u00e9 estar\u00e1 causando esta &#8220;Alta de Bolivia en esteroides&#8221;?<\/strong>&nbsp;Una posible explicaci\u00f3n es el forzamiento originado en el Pacifico tropical viajando como una onda de Rossby como lo sugiere la alternancia de n\u00facleos de positivos (bajas) y negativos (altas presiones) de anomal\u00edas de la funci\u00f3n corriente en la figura siguiente. El \u00faltimo nodo de la cadena justamente corresponde a la AB.
