Las propuestas de SRM incluyen la modificaci\u00f3n del albedo global v\u00eda espejos en \u00f3rbita, inyecci\u00f3n de aerosoles reflectivos en la estratosfera, y adelgazamiento de las nubes, entre otras<sup>(1, 2)<\/sup>. Desde hace m\u00e1s de una d\u00e9cada, la investigaci\u00f3n sobre el potencial de estas propuestas ha prove\u00eddo simulaciones de diversos escenarios de intervenci\u00f3n clim\u00e1tica global, que son \u00fatiles para realizar estudios de impacto<sup>(3)<\/sup>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>En este caso, investigamos la influencia potencial de la SRM en el balance de masa superficial de los glaciares andinos, ya que los glaciares son cruciales para las funciones ecol\u00f3gicas aguas abajo a lo largo de la costa oeste de Am\u00e9rica del Sur. Para eso, implementamos un modelo matem\u00e1tico que computa el balance superficial de glaciares usando datos de temperatura, precipitaci\u00f3n, radiaci\u00f3n solar entrante, y la distribuci\u00f3n de elevaciones. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n compar\u00f3 tres escenarios disponibles en dos modelos clim\u00e1ticos: los SSP245, SSP585, y el G6Solar. Este \u00faltimo escenario corresponde a uno de los dise\u00f1ados para el experimento GeoMIP fase 6, cuyo objetivo fue determinar la reacci\u00f3n del clima global a la reducci\u00f3n de temperatura v\u00eda la SRM, para alcanzar rangos de cambios de temperatura similares al escenario SSP245. Los resultados indican un balance de masa negativo en toda la regi\u00f3n andina, independientemente del escenario o los reg\u00edmenes clim\u00e1ticos glaciares. Sin embargo, la SRM tiende a modificar la variabilidad interanual y la sensibilidad a la temperatura en varias regiones. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Nuestros hallazgos tambi\u00e9n sugieren que la respuesta del balance de masa a la SRM, escenario G6Solar,\u00a0\u00a0var\u00eda regionalmente de forma significativa, donde las zonas tropicales tienden a mostrar mayor variabilidad en las trayectorias que los grupos glaciares que se localizan al sur.
